Pretty Picks | Retro Inspired Headbands

These retro inspired headbands are totally cute and perfect for adding some sparkle to your hair. You can pull off this look in three simple steps:

1. Pull the hairband over your head first. Then, take a comb and part your hair down the middle.

2. Take two sections of hair from the front and hold away from the rest of your hair. (I usually just hold the sections of hair in my mouth xP).

3. When you pull the headband over your head and in place make sure the back is under your hair and the front is over your two sections of hair.

These three headbands I purchased at Forever 21. The one in the pictures above and in the picture to the left is from TJ-Maxx.

Pretty Picks | Combat Boots

So along with my nail art series I am also going to post monthly 'picks' of different articles of clothing/shoes/accessories. For September here is my favorite pair of combat boots. They're perfect for fall and very versatile. Here I have them folded down with a pair of frilly socks. :)

DIY: Distressed Jeans

You can make ripped jeans with just a pair of scissors. The best part? You don't have to spend a fortune buying distressed jeans from the store. Here's what you need to get started:

~Scissors
~Tweezers
~Pair of jeans you don't mind cutting-any will do it just depends on your liking; if you can't seem to find a pair you want to cut try buying a pair from the thrift store (mom jeans work best when cut down for distressed shorts.)

Step 1: Cut a few slits where you would like your distressed patch to be; have each cut parallel to the other as well as parallel to the bottom of your jeans. Make sure you don't cut the back of your jeans.

Step 2: You will see blue and white strands of thread; using the tweezers pull away the white strands of thread until you can easily see each individual blue thread.

Step 3: Pull out the individual blue threads, this should leave all the remaining white threads so that they look like this:

Step 4: Throw the jeans in the washer and dryer to help with distressing the holes even more.
