Memory Jar

Here's a DIY on how I decorated my memory jar; you can do anything you want with yours. All you need is some kind of jar and decorations (I used different kinds of ribbon for mine).

There's only one step to this: Cut your ribbon to size and tie it around the jar. You can write special memories on pieces of paper and place them in the jar. :)

How to Stay Inspired

This might be something that will help me more than it will help you. I'd really like to keep posting daily on this blog but it's hard to keep inspired and motivated to do so (that and time....). I thought I should just remind myself of some of the things I can do to keep the creative mind flowing while at the same time writing a new blog post. So, here ya go! Feel free to comment any of the things you do to keep inspired down below; it's greatly appreciated. :)

Hair Care Rules, Tips and Products:

There are some rules for taking care of your hair that you may not have known about before...

Rule #1: You are actually not supposed to wash your hair every day! When you wash your hair you are getting rid of the natural oils it produces to nourish your hair. If you are washing your hair every day the ends of your hair will not get the nutrients they need, resulting in dry and brittle hair. Try to washing your hair every other day and brush it thoroughly in order to get those natural oils to the bottom of your hair.

Rule #2: You shouldn't keep using the same shampoo or conditioner. When you continue to use the same products on your hair it starts to build up and makes your hair more greasy at the roots. Try buying at least 2 different brands of products that you can switch up every week. This Herbal Essences Drama Clean shampoo is great for whenever you feel like you need a fresh start.

Rule #3: Don't rub your hair. Ever. Whether your drying it with a towel or putting in conditioner never rub your hair; when your hair is wet it is most sensitive to breakage. Instead when drying your hair gently dab the ends and when conditioning run your fingers through your hair from the ear down and let the conditioner sit. An octopus clip is also great for keeping your hair off your back and out of the water as the conditioner sets in.

Rule #4: Comb not brush. When your hair is still wet or damp from showering try to avoid brushing it. Use a comb if your hair gets really tangled; if not, you can probably go without combing or brushing it while it's still wet.

Rule #5: Avoid too much heat, product, or teasing. Heat and teasing everyday can damage your hair and using lots of product tends to build up; try to avoid doing any of these things excessively and give your hair a break every other day or so.

♫♥♫ Extra Tips ♫♥♫
  • Anything with Keratin in it will help with dry hair
  • When blow drying pin up hair you are not drying and dry in sections to avoid frizzies.
  • Trimming your hair every once in awhile helps split ends and helps you when you want to grow your hair out.
  • Braids are a safe way to curl your hair without the heat.
